In a Dear Colleague Letter issued last Friday, NSF’s Division of Earth Sciences announced that it will eliminate future target dates for proposal submission for the following programs (moving instead to the “accepted any time” scheme previously adopted in the division’s other major programs):

  • Tectonics (NSF 16-556)
  • Petrology and Geochemistry (NSF 15-557)
  • Geophysics (NSF 16-598)
  • EarthScope (NSF 17-511)

The solicitations for each of those programs will be updated shortly to reflect the change. Investigators are also asked to hold off on submitting new proposals to any of these programs until after July 24, 2017, to minimize delays associated with the move to a new NSF headquarters building in Alexandria beginning in September 2017.
