Executive Summary:
Schneider Electric’s office in Boulder, Colorado, appreciates the opportunity to provide  this proposal to the University of Colorado’s Masters of the Environment (MENV) Program to support and collaborate with 3-5 graduate students in pursuit of a capstone project partner.

Schneider is the leading  independent  global energy advisor  with unparalleled corporate renewable energy advisory experience with Fortune 500  customers. Leveraging this  experience, MENV students will have the opportunity to work as consultants in researching, assembling, and integrating a strategic global renewable energy framework to support Schneider’s consulting service product expansion.

Each week, more corporate entities make public commitments to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions but require the strategic and technical guidance of an experienced advisor to achieve those goals across the globe. Schneider’s current renewable energy consulting work is rapidly expanding into new geographies and reviewing the latest cost competitive measures to support its clients in achieving their goals is an urgent  priority. This project will allow students to be a key part of the strategy, development, and formation of new renewable energy consulting services for Schneider.

The central question students will be tasked to answer is twofold:

  1. What are the driving factors that should guide global renewable energy procurement at the local  and country level across  different regions throughout the world?
  2. How does a company evaluate new global renewable energy opportunities from a business and sustainability perspective?

In pursuit of these answers, students will be expected to be highly self-directing and driven to work independently, all the while benefiting from oversight and mentorship from the Schneider Electric Cleantech advisory team to ensure a successful project.

Key words:
