Career

The MENV Career Services Office prepares our students for careers in sustainability across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. As the field of sustainability is changing rapidly, MENV’s career team works closely with faculty and specialization industry advisors to align curricular, extracurricular, and advising content to current industry needs and provide pathways for students to tailor their degree to meet the moment of their chosen industry. With career development as a central pillar of MENV, the Career Services team works to ensure all students can engage in professional skill-building through in-class and beyond-the-classroom workshops.

From the moment students start in the MENV program, they are encouraged to meet with our Career Coaches to start charting their professional development journey. Our students and alumni have unlimited access to our comprehensive suite of career services including one-on-one support, skill-building workshops, in-class trainings, and peer-to-peer mentoring opportunities. No two career paths look the same, so the career team provides customizable resources and support through step-by-step guidance on 1) skill development, 2) career planning, 3) job applications and tracking, 4) interviewing, and 5) long-term career advancement. For each step, MENV offers tools, templates, and strategies to help students build a career that leverages their skills and aligns with their values and goals.

Our goal is to empower students and alumni to take ownership of their professional development, while connecting with coaches and advisors to make informed decisions that move them toward meaningful work. MENV also holds two program-wide career development events per semester to help students build their skills, network with sustainability professionals, learn about industry trends, and explore career paths.
