Nominations are submitted by the department's faculty members with winners selected by the Paul M. Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate Committee.

Quin fell in love with rehabilitation technology after designing and building a variety of devices to help students and community members with disabilities, making everything from a weighted vest batman costume and custom pencil grip to help a kindergarten student learn how to write to an adjustable necklace to hold a communication device for a student at another school.
