Team 06: Rotary Fluid Feedthrough and Electric Slip Ring for Deep Space Missions
Abstract
Rotating and deployable mechanisms facilitate space travel. Our team, sponsored by Lockheed Martin, has developed an integrated rotary fluid feedthrough and slip ring system allowing for 360-degree rotational transfer of fluid and electrical signals along rotating interfaces on spacecraft. Our team’s solution was designed to survive launch vibrations, extreme temperatures, and vacuum conditions.
