Why did you choose engineering at CU Boulder?I was actually here for the Data Science field before I got interested in Cybersecurity! I also wanted to take a class with Professor Jim Martin, whose textbook I studied from in my undergraduate. It- The University of Colorado Boulder College of Engineering and Applied Science has been selected to host the National Society of Black Engineers National Leadership Conference in 2020 and 2021. The conference is NSBE’s premier training program for approximately 250 national and regional officers who spend four days focused on leadership training and skill-building.
CU Boulder’s manufacturing class has been revamped to bring the manufacturing process to life for students with input from industry representatives. They uncovered a need leading to five guest speakers, nine company tours, a manufacturing industry panel and a variety of active learning opportunities.
The first-place team will receive a $10,000 scholarship award.
Today’s graduates have earned a 21st century engineering degree – one steeped in the domain knowledge required to impact our technological world, but which also benefits from the broad character of our university and the interdisciplinary manner in which we approach our educational mission.
Applications are now being accepted for the next cycle of the scholarship, which includes room and board and a full semester of tuition at Technical University of Darmstadt, plus a semester-long paid internship.
Why did you choose engineering at CU Boulder?It was a combination of factors. Mainly, I was fascinated by the ongoing research projects on the design of smart materials at the Center for Aerospace Structures in the Aerospace Department. I also was
Leading up to the award, he was the first student in his major to study abroad in back-to-back semesters in two different countries: New Zealand and Singapore.
Computer science PhD student Chelsea Chandler helped to develop a speech-based mobile app that can categorize a patient’s mental health status as well as or better than a human can.
Fifth-year chemical and biological PhD candidate Leila Saleh works at the crossroads of immunology and engineering in the Bryant Research Group. During her time at CU Boulder, she has worked with Professor Stephanie Bryant, Kristi Anseth and Jenifer Cha in various capacities – giving her a great chance to see how all three balance research and teaching, and shaping her post-graduation plans.
