Katie Sullivan

  • CIVIL ENGINEERING - CIVIL SYSTEMS

Katie is working towards a MS in Civil Engineering - Civil Systems, with a concentration in Global Engineering through the Mortenson Center. In 2022, Katie spent the summer in Western Ireland for an engineering study abroad. She then spent the following summer and semester (2023) interning with Walsh Construction Company as a project engineer. Katie was also a part of NDSEED, a Notre Dame student chapter for Engineers In Action (EIA) and spent two summers (2024, 2025) constructing pedestrian footbridges in rural Bolivia that were designed by the team during the schoolyear.

Katie is excited to learn more about climate-change resilience, WASH, and resilient infrastructure through the Mortenson Center, which has been an invaluable network for meeting likeminded people and gaining optimism and inspiration towards tackling the overwhelming global inequities. In her spare time, Katie loves to play soccer, explore the beautiful mountains of Colorado, watercolor paint, chat (she loves to gab!), and read/puzzle.
