The Mortenson Center trains engineers to work in partnership with institutions and communities worldwide to develop improved tools and methods to address global challenges. Our program is based on the principle that we are exposing engineers to global development issues within the framework and limitations of an engineering degree program. As such, we aspire to train engineers who, upon graduation, should be able to provide technical expertise to development agencies or other firms in a manner that recognizes the various technical and professional facets of community development that lead to sustainable solutions.
