Global Brands Group Proposal
Materiality Assessment
Project Lead:

James Cooper, Sustainability Manager
Executive Summary:
Global Brands Group (GBG) is one of the world’s leading branded apparel, footwear and accessories, and brand management companies. We design, develop, market and sell products across a wide range of categories under a diverse array of owned and licensed brands.
For GBG, sustainability means operating ethically and responsibly to deliver economic, social and environmental benefits to our stakeholders. Through collaboration across the business, we pursue our purpose to Impact the World with Brands People Love—inspiring our decisions to create a more sustainable GBG and contribute to a positive impact within our industry. We realize that sustainability at GBG will be a journey, not a destination. We know that we’re not where we need to be with our sustainability program, but we continue to make progress in that journey. This year we published our first GBG Corporate Social Responsibility Report.
As the apparel sector’s position on environmental, social and governance (ESG) has evolved, GBG must ensure our strategies and priorities are aligned to ensure growth in a sustainable manner. To do that, GBG is seeking an updated materiality assessment to prioritize time and resources in the advancement of the sustainability program. Materiality assessments are vital in identifying an organization’s most “material” issues, identifying risk, opportunities and providing guidance on resource utilization.
Key words:
