Regional Transportation District (RTD) Roadmap for Bus Electrification
Through the RTD Roadmap for Bus Electrification Capstone Project, students will identify methods for redefining energy strategies for the RTD bus system. The electrification roadmap will require a cost-benefit analysis of key bus routes and strategic placement of charging stations along the districts’ bus corridors. To ensure overall success in adoption, the students will create a transitional employee handbook, and engage the public in the decision-making process. The students will gain skills in energy analysis through quantification of energy consumption and savings. Additionally, the experience of gaining first-hand experience and insight into the inner-working of a transit agency will prove to be invaluable to future career opportunities.
