Team 28: Wabtec Corp(Oil Monitoring)
Abstract
The Gear Oil Monitoring device automates the oil measurement system in a locomotive gear case. This device is tested to withstand the harshest environments, with accelerations of up to 33G and deliver results that are accurate to a height differential of 0.05". This system communicates with the locomotive's electronic system to automatically inform the oil level and any drastic changes in height.
