Team 10: Automated Mold Release Applicator for High Compression Molding

Abstract

Pretred Inc manufactures traffic barriers from recycled tires using compression molding. Mold release must be applied before each cycle, but the current method results in inconsistent coverage and equipment degradation. This project developed an automated spraying system that improves spray consistency, adapts to different mold sizes, reduces ergonomic risk, and increases manufacturing efficiency.
