Kelsey Lumbard
- Undergraduate Academic Advisor

Office Location: ECME 105B
Responsibilities
As an academic advisor in the Paul M. Rady Mechanical Engineering Department, I support undergraduate students in navigating degree requirements, addressing academic challenges and monitoring their academic progress. I also connect students with campus resources and support services to promote their academic success, persistence and overall goal of graduation.
What I enjoy about working for CU Boulder
I’m excited to be part of a university that provides students with the opportunity to pursue their passions and achieve their goals. What I enjoy most about advising is getting to know students, learning about their dreams and aspirations and supporting them along the way.
I’m especially excited to work with mechanical engineering students as they navigate their college experience, grow in their field and take steps toward the future they envision for themselves. Being able to play a small part in a student’s journey and help them recognize what they’re capable of is incredibly rewarding.
Bio
My own educational journey was not smooth with lots of bumps and detours but I was fortunate to end up at California State University of Chico, where I graduated with a Multicultural and Gender Studies degree, and continued at Portland State University, where I earned my graduate degree in Postsecondary and Adult Continuing Education.
My experiences as a student have shaped my approach to advising and my belief that every student’s path is unique. Outside of work, I’m an avid hockey fan and enjoy attending and watching games—Go Avs!
I also love finding new coffee shops and restaurants, spotting dogs wherever I go and spending time with jigsaw puzzles and word games. I’m always happy to hear a recommendation for a great cup of coffee, a new restaurant to try or a place where I can see lots of dogs!
