My name is Katie Simon and I am a senior in the Mechanical Engineering department. I am very interested in biomedical engineering, and following my graduation in May, I plan to pursue a career in the medical device design field.
I am the Chair of the Engineering Excellence Fund and a TA for MCEN 2000: Mechanical Engineering as a Profession. I am very appreciative of the passion that the faculty and staff in the ME department bring to the classrooms and labs everyday, and for their efforts to instill that same drive in students.
Originally from Michigan, I had traveled to Colorado to ski race many times in high school. During my freshman and sophomore years at CU, I ski raced on the club ski team, and also played club volleyball. Besides skiing and volleyball, I also enjoy backpacking, travelling and spending time on the lakes back in Michigan.
