Are you looking for a program that provides mentors and workshops to guide you through the world of academic research? The Uplift Research Program, organized by student-led STEM Routes, is looking for engaged undergraduate students who are interested in conducting research in a STEM lab, no matter your previous experience. 

Apply by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25. If you have questions, email stem_routes@colorado.edu. 

Applications for the 2025-26 mentor program are open through Sept. 26. Participants get the opportunity to gain an understanding of what it means to be a life science professional in a working environment across a variety of companies in various stages of their growth. Established industry experts are ready to share their expertise with the next generation of life science leaders.

Advising holds for spring 2026 will be placed starting Thursday, Sept. 11. This hold requires you to meet with your academic advisor (or attend a group advising session, for some majors) before you can register for spring 2026 classes in November. If you see “advising required by major” in the Buff Portal, don’t worry — your advisor will send you more information soon!

Engineering Peer Advisors are fellow engineering students who are trained and knowledgeable. We are happy to share our experiences and advice from a peer perspective. We can assist you with deciding what major is right for you, customizing your college experience, discovering student societies and organizations, tips on talking with faculty, and much more! Visit Buff Portal Advising for drop-in advising hours.

Join us for a one-hour workshop on how to work in groups effectively.

• Skills for your profession: Learn skills employers seek!
• Spot the barriers: What gets in the way of clear communication?
• Team power: Why communication is the heartbeat of success.
• Communicate better: Best practices to keep your message clear.
• Tame the storm: Strategies to smooth out team conflict.

Workshop is first-come, first-served and open to any engineering student. 

Led by a student peer, these weekly sessions will take what you are learning in class and make it interactive to learn it deeply. Sessions will focus on exam content. No need to sign up — just show up!
