It’s been a wild semester! Join us to welcome the summer warmth and celebrate the end of a long semester with a simulated drive-in movie night (minus the driving). RSVP by Wednesday, April 26.

Come early for grilled cuisine courtesy of STEM Routes graduate mentors and view a movie everyone will vote on. The movie will be streamed on a projector with lots of space for your picnic blankets and chairs! All CU Boulder community members are welcome, including staff, faculty and students at any level. In the event of inclement weather, the event will take place in Gold A2B70.

Throughout the 90-minute session, students will have an opportunity to hear from practitioners regarding their experiences at Deloitte, the impact of software engineering roles, additional firm initiatives, the fall recruitment cycle, and more. Additionally, there will be time reserved for you to ask specific questions as you continue with your career search. Food will be provided!

Interested in learning more about the career path to highly coveted jobs? An engineering background is ideal to many consulting firms as it creates a unique problem-solving mindset that stands out.

Join us for the Flatirons Consulting Summit (FCS), a professional consulting conference hosted by Leeds Consulting Group and Leeds Student Government. Open to all students! FCS connects aspiring consultants with current industry professionals to inspire and teach the next generation to lead with courage, hope, and change.

Attendees will have an opportunity to participate in interactive workshops surrounding case prep and holistic development with speakers from Bain & Company, Deloitte Consulting, and McKinsey & Company. Additionally, it will provide a variety of networking opportunities for students to connect with industry professionals through a consulting career fair.

The Sullivan-Carlson Innovation in Education Award is awarded annually to an educator in the College of Engineering and Applied Science who demonstrates initiative in developing and using hands-on curriculum and employs hands-on learning in their teaching to actively engage students and make an impact beyond the classroom. If you feel one of your teachers has exemplified these traits, please submit a nomination to the Engineering Excellence Fund.

Undergraduate students graduating in May recently received the Graduating Senior Survey in their email. Please complete the Graduating Senior Survey by May 4.

This Building a Legacy grant collaborated between CU Boulder and Tuskegee University pioneers a "living-learning lab" through design-build projects centered on socially and ecologically sustainable agricultural-land infrastructure experiments. The project is based in Tuskegee, Alabama, pivotal to Black history in the United States. The "living-learning lab" will be developed collaboratively to meet the goals of the non-profit Harvest Dreams.

Students involved will receive $715 a month for ten months for their participation plus travel.

Since this is the second year of the grant, students chosen this year will be a part of the Continuation phase, which includes developing the design and creating the larger vision of the living learning lab and other possibilities through community engagement and feedback.

If so, you might be a good fit for our new Engineering Wayfinders team. These students work over summer assisting with registration and answering general academic questions from new students and their families. They also work throughout the year to support students with navigating their choices and working with their academic advisor.

GoldShirt Mentor

The GoldShirt Mentor position is an essential part of providing holistic and inclusive support to students participating in Broadening Opportunities through Leadership and Diversity (BOLD) scholarship programs. The purpose of the GoldShirt mentor role is to aid the BOLD staff in fostering a sense of connection, belonging, community, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) identity among GoldShirt scholars and supporting their academic success. GoldShirt mentors are hired and supervised by the GoldShirt Program Manager.

Looking for ASEN and MCEN tutors

BOLD Tutoring Services provides academic support for all students of the College of Engineering and Applied Science. Join our team to help your peers achieve their dreams!

We offer in-person and hybrid work. Interested students will need to commit to at least two semesters for the position (i.e., fall and spring). There are two types of tutoring positions: BOLD tutor and BOLD lead tutor. Our offices are located in ECCE 122 and in the Aerospace Building Room 210. In-person ASEN tutors will be assigned to the East Campus location, while virtual tutors will conduct sessions over Zoom.

The Department of Defense is interested in studying approaches to graduate education for the topic of Hypersonics that involves very high-speed air vehicles. The Center for National Security Initiatives (NSI) at CU Boulder is seeking to hire three (3) undergraduate interns who will work on three aspects of this problem:

1. Document the design and experience of a Graduate Certificate in Hypersonics that was established at the University of Colorado in 2021;
2. Survey other Graduate Certificate programs across U.S. universities in hypersonics and in other similar technical fields; and
3. Survey the Hypersonics workforce needs of industry and governmen

​Undergraduate interns must be US citizens (sponsor requirement) and must complete the internship over the summer term (11 weeks) at CU Boulder.

ISSS is excited to announce that our peer mentor applications are open for the International Student Peer Mentor program. Applications are open through Sunday, April 30 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.

Benefits of being an International Student Peer Mentor:

• Get paired with one or multiple incoming international students (mentees) this spring.
• Communicate with assigned mentee(s) in order to help them adjust to CU and establish connections and relationships.

Mentor Qualifications:

• Must have completed at least two semesters at CU Boulder by May 2023
• Must be registered as a full-time student at CU Boulder for Fall 2023
• Must have knowledge of services offered on campus in order to refer new students with questions
• Must have the ability to relate well with a diverse group of people, and the ability to develop and promote intercultural understanding and global engagement.

Our Peer Mentee fall applications will be open from July 17-Aug. 18.
