Cameron Deverel-RicoThe Office of Alumni Engagement is re-establishing the Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) Board to strengthen connections between the College of Engineering & Applied Science and our recent alumni. We're focused on identifying ways for alumni to get involved and interact with other recent graduates across the globe, along with current students, and will collaborate with the GOLD Board to drive this change.

The GOLD Board is a unique opportunity for young alumni to gain experience that normally would not be available to them until later in their careers. Members of the board will be responsible for helping the college build networking channels, outreach to other recent graduates and students, develop new events targeted at engaging young alumni and provide valuable feedback to the college.

In the past, the GOLD Board helped the college reconnect with its alumni base through unique events and established an award that the college still grants today to recognize recent graduates. The GOLD Board created the Recent Alumni Award in 2013 to recognize high-achieving and engaged alumni who have graduated from CU Boulder Engineering in the last 10 years. The RAA is one of few campus awards aimed at recognizing recent graduates. We plan to continue and build upon these types of successes from previous GOLD Board activity.

We are currently recruiting new board members and plan to hold our kickoff meeting in spring 2019. The board will hold two in-person meetings a year, one in the spring (coinciding with the Engineering Projects Expo and Distinguished Engineering Alumni Awards Banquet) and one in the fall (coinciding with Homecoming).

To qualify for the board, alumni must have graduated from CU Engineering within the last 10 years (based on the last degree you received from CU Boulder Engineering) and have displayed early success in your career. We are looking to fill the board with a diverse group of individuals coming from different ethnicities, genders, majors, backgrounds and geographic regions.

If you or anyone you know is interested in expanding your network of Buffs and helping CU Engineering further its mission through the GOLD Board, please contact our office for more information.
