Senior Director of Alumni Engagement and Donor Relations
Kevin Lobdell joined the CU Boulder Engineering advancement team in January 2018 as the director of alumni engagement. In October 2020, he became the senior director of alumni engagement and donor relations where he is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive alumni engagement and donor relations strategy for the college. Kevin’s previous advancement experience includes working in alumni engagement at Binghamton University and Clarkson University and through various volunteer fundraising efforts. Prior to his work in alumni engagement, Kevin started his career in higher education working in student affairs in the areas of residential life and student engagement.
Originally from upstate New York, Kevin earned his undergraduate degree in supply chain management from Clarkson University and a master's degree in higher education and student affairs from the University of Connecticut. He is currently pursuing an EdD in leadership for educational equity in higher education from the University of Colorado Denver.
Program Manager for Alumni Engagement
Cameron Deverel-Rico joined the CU Boulder Engineering advancement team in July 2018 as the program manager for alumni engagement. He is primarily responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive alumni volunteer engagement program within the College of Engineering and Applied Science. Cameron previously worked at the University of California, Berkeley where he began his career in advancement as a member of the Donor and Gift Services team, where he held the roles of Financial Services Analyst and Online Giving Analyst. Most recently, he was a Development Associate for Class Campaigns, where he gained extensive experience in building and training volunteer committees in support of their milestone reunions.
Originally from Northern California, he is excited to explore all that Colorado has to offer. When he is not at the office, Cameron enjoys rock climbing, hiking, and cooking up new recipes in the kitchen with his wife.
Senior Program Manager for Alumni Events
Erin Smith joined the CU Boulder Advancement team in July 2018 as the Program Manager for Alumni Events at the College of Engineering & Applied Science and was promoted to Senior Program Manager in April 2022. She is responsible for developing, leading, executing, and managing events to engage students and alumni. Erin earned her degree in Hospitality Administration from Boston University and began her event planning career in hotels and resorts. She later returned to Boston University where she spent over four years executing large-scale university events, weddings, meetings, and summer conferences. She most recently worked on CU Boulder's campus at Conference Services.
As a proud Colorado native, Erin is thrilled to be back in her home state. In her free time, she can be found trying out new restaurants in Denver and soaking up Colorado’s 300 beautiful days of sunshine.
Program Manager for Donor Relations
Louise Sternberg joined the CU Boulder Engineering and Applied Science advancement team in January 2020 as advancement assistant. She became the program manager for donor relations in June of 2022 where she is responsible for managing all of the college's donor engagement initiatives.
Louise received a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University, a Bachelor of Science Degree from Colorado State University in Recreation Resource Management and obtained her Elementary Education Teaching Certification from CU Denver. For a decade, Louise worked for the Boulder Valley School District in a variety of roles most notably ensuring district-wide Vision Screening and Medicaid program compliance. Early in her career, Louise coordinated outreach programs at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson, Arizona and served as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the not-for-profit Tucson Children's Museum.
A Denver native, Louise is an avid skier, hiker and runner. The best compliment she has received was being called “Adventure Mom” by her two sons.
