The CS-Opportunities Listserv is a mailing list for current students (colorado.edu email addresses only). This list shares computing-related opportunities such as internship openings, student employment, events on campus, student organizations, workshops, scholarships, and networking opportunities.

Appropriate for all current students with an interest in CS-related internships, activities, and events.

A few things to note about this list:

  • Students can join or leave the list at any time. See "How to Subscribe" and "How to Unsubscribe" below for instructions. However, note that if you are subscribed you will receive all messages distributed to this list, and if you unsubscribe you will not receive any of these messages. We are not able to offer a function to only "opt in" to messages about specific topics.
  • The list is moderated, so all messages are reviewed before being distributed to the list.
  • List membership is not visible to anyone other than administrators of the list.

Subscribe to the CS Opportunities list by joining in Google Groups.

  • Sign into Google Groups with your CU credentials.
  • Search for cs-opportunities in the groups list (Select "All groups" in the search dropdown)
  • On the right side of the screen click the arrow icon to join, or click on the group name and follow the prompts to join.

Manage your subscription to the CS Opportunities list in Google Groups.

  • Sign into Google Groups with your CU credentials.
  • Under My Groups, find the cs-opportunities group and click on the group
  • On the left, select My membership settings
  • From there, you can click the Leave Group button or update how you would like to be contacted

Send an email to cs-opportunities@colorado.edu and provide the following in the message:

  • Descriptive email subject including the name of your department/office/company/group.
  • Information in the message body about the organization/group/office/event.
  • Description of the specific opportunity.
  • Any RSVP requirements or action requested from students.
  • Contact information in case students have questions or want to follow up.

Please note:

  • Messages containing email addresses are often edited to remove the email address (to avoid spam). For contact information, we recommend listing an email address as "chip.buffalo [at] colorado.edu" or similar, to communicate the contact info successfully.
  • If attachments must be used, suggested formats include: .pdf, .jpg, .doc/docx, .xls/xlsx, .ppt/pptx.
  • Messages, if approved for distribution, are sent exactly as submitted, including subject and the entirey of the body of the message. Moderators cannot edit a message before distributing.
  • Messages unrelated to computer science students/opportunities will not be distributed.
  • Subject lines should be descriptive - for example "Student Group X kickoff meeting (Sept. 20, 10am)" or "XYZ Corp recruiting event (Oct. 10, 5pm)" - rather than generic subject lines like "meeting" or "FYI", etc.
  • HTML-formatted emails are acceptable.
