Share News with the Environmental Studies Community

To share information with the Environmental Studies Community, submit your message to envs-news. Messages to this list from non-subscribers will first be routed to administration for approval. Subscribers to this list can openly message one another without moderation. Please make the email short, and include website links so that people wanting more detailed information can easily find it. The email will go to faculty, staff, researchers, and students in the ENVS community any others affiliated with, or interested in, the Environmental Studies Program. You may want to include a sentence in your email to encourage students to share the information as appropriate.

To self-subscribe to the ENVS-News email list, send an email to sympa@lists.colorado.edu with the following information in the Subject line:

  • subscribe envs-news FirstName LastName
    • Replace FirstName and LastName with your name

Email ENVS Faculty and Staff

To send an email to the Environmental Studies faculty and staff, submit your message to envs-facstaff. This list is for internal use only and all non-subscriber emails to this address will first be routed to administration for approval. Please make the email short, and include website links so that people wanting more detailed information can easily find it. The email will go only to faculty and staff in the Environmental Studies program. You may want to include a sentence in your email to encourage the information be shared as appropriate.

Email ENVS Graduate Students

To send an email to all Environmental Studies graduate students, submit your message to envs-grad. This list is for internal use only and all non-subscriber emails to this address will first be routed to administration for approval. The email will go only to graduate students, program staff, and the faculty director and associate directors. You may want to include a sentence in your email to encourage students to share the information as appropriate.

CU Boulder offers a variety of mechanisms for sending university-related email messages in bulk to groups of faculty, staff or students. Carefully evaluate the available bulk email mechanisms to ensure you have selected the tool appropriate to the task at hand.

  • Administrative E-memo:  individual message which can be sent to specifically targeted groups. This service is administered by University Communications (for faculty/staff e-memos) and the Registrar's Office (for student e-memos).
  • CU Boulder Today : CU Boulder's electronic newsletter captures campus news, important announcements, campus events and the stories that inform our campus conversation.
  • Buff Bulletin Board : A site that is a listing of notices, training/seminars, jobs, campus services and events.
  • Course Roster Email:  portal-based email mechanism which allows a faculty member to send an email to all students registered for his/her class.
  • Exchange Distribution Lists: Exchange-based capabilities including AD group mailing lists, security permissions, and group invitations to calendar events.
  • Google Groups: Google provides distribution list capability through the Groups app.
