Note – this needs to be submitted by faculty advisors and not the students
To recognize our amazing students and their publications/presentations, the Department of Computer Science has created a fund to support student conference travel grants and publication submissions. Funds can be requested at any time and will be awarded on a quarterly basis. These funds are to support both PhD and Research Based MS students.
To receive this fund:
- Publications/presentations must be in a high quality, peer-reviewed venue as defined by the faculty advisor.
- The fund is intended to support conference travel expenses for student presenters. It also can be used to cover the publication fee associated with a student’s accepted submission to a journal, conference, or workshop.
- The student receiving the fund must be the main contributor, typically the first author, of the publication or presentation.
- Students must be either CSEN PhD or CSEN Research Based MS students.
- Funds will be disbursed as long as funds remain available.
- This fund is not available for any past events.
- To ensure a fair distribution of funds, each student is eligible for this fund only once per academic year.
- The funding amount will be $2,000.00 per student.
- This fund will be deposited to faculty's ICR account and processed as travel reimbursement for the student.
To apply:
- Faculty advisors, in consultation with the presenting student, must submit the form. Students should ask their faculty advisor to complete the form (advisors already have access).
- By filling out this form, faculty acknowledge that funds are awarded on a quarterly basis. Funds cannot be made available sooner than the quarterly deadline, even if a conference or publication occurs sooner.
- Grad Comm will review submissions at the end of each quarter and submit a request to CS Team to transfer funds to faculty's ICR/Fund 10 accounts.
Review Timeline:
- submissions will be reviewed on last Friday of March, June, September and December.
- for approved applications, CS team will be notified for the transfer of funds.
