Computer Science Minor (Pre-Fall 2025)
The following requirements apply to students who enrolled in the minor before fall 2025. If you are new to the minor, please visit the main CS minor page.
Any CU Boulder student not currently enrolled in the Computer Science BS or BA can earn a minor in Computer Science.
To fulfill the requirements for a CS minor, you should allow six semesters, begin no later than sophomore year and consider completing summer courses unless you want to delay graduation.
Declaring the Minor
- Submit by March 1 for spring requirement term.
- Submit by June 1 for summer requirement term.
- Submit by Oct. 1 for fall requirement term.
Once you have completed the prerequisites outlined below, please submit the Computer Science Minor Interest Form. After the semester’s deadline, the CSCI minor advising team will verify that you have successfully completed the prerequisites and forward your information to the Dean’s Office to have the minor added to your academic plan. Please allow up to a week for the CSCI minor to be added to your record.
Students may not complete a computer science (CSMR-MIN) minor if they are also completing a BS in Computer Science, a BA in Computer Science, a BS in Applied Computer Science (post-baccalaureate program), the Computer Science Integration program in Leeds, or a computer engineering (CEMR) minor.
Please reach out to cs-minor@colorado.edu with any questions or concerns regarding your minor.
