Andy Carle

Andy Carle is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Colorado Boulder. His teaching draws on a career spanning computer science education, software and prototype engineering, and Human-Computer Interaction. His interests include human-centered product development, rapid prototyping, user research and qualitative evaluation, and educational technology.

Andy earned his PhD in Computer Science from UC Berkeley, where his work focused on Human-Computer Interaction and Computer Science Education, and later taught as a visiting faculty member in Berkeley’s EECS Department. In industry, he was product lead for Kinoma Create at Marvell Semiconductor and co-founded Moddable Tech, where he worked on tools and technologies for developing embedded systems and connected devices.

Outside of computing, Andy is a competitive curler, an instructor at Rock Creek Curling in Boulder County, an avid cyclist, and a lifelong gamer.
