Alums' software company exceeds expectations in IPO
Rally Software had a terrific debut on the NYSE today as its IPO came in above expectations at $14 a share.
The Founder and CTO of Rally, Ryan Martens, is an alum with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from our College and an MBA from the Business School. He is active in a number of programs at CU including being a board member for engineering entrepreneurship efforts here in the College.
Zach Nies is Rally's Chief Technologist and an alumnus of our department and the college. He has been active in our department for many years, sharing his time as a guest speaker and as a teacher. He co-taught our software methods and tools class a few years ago and is currently co-teaching our Startup Essentials class this semester.
Finally, the Chairman and CEO, Tim Miller is ALSO a CU alum holding a Master’s degree in Management Science and Information Systems from the Business and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from A&S.
In addition, Rally has been a longtime employer of our graduates, has donated software for use by our senior projects class and by our research groups, and also provides paid internships to our students.
