Each semester the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (ChBE) seeks undergraduate Lab Assistants to support faculty in our labs. You will work 1-20 hours per week depending on availability and the lab needs. These student hourly roles are filled on an as-needed basis each semester.

Lab assistant tasks depend on the semester and faculty member, but usually involve some mix of the following:

• Handling EH&S audits

• Waste communication

• Space management and organization

• Maintenance and troubleshooting of experimental modules

• Testing and characterizing new modules

• Creating SOP videos for newly developed modules

• First Years and Sophomores: $16.00/hr

• Juniors: $16.50/hr

• Seniors: $17.00/hr

• CHEN or CBEN undergraduate student

• We strongly prefer students who have received an A or A- in the class, though those with a B+ will also be considered.

Student hourly positions are not permanent employees and hired on a semester-by-semester basis. This position is eligible for employee sick leave earned monthly on a prorated basis. The ChBE Department does not provide internships, Research Assistantship (RAs) or Teaching Assistantships (TAs).

Interested applicants for lab assistant openings may email Professor Ehsan Keyvani at ehsan.keyvani@colorado.edu with the following information:

• Subject line: "Lab Assistant position"

• A brief statement on why you wish to be a lab assistant.
