Trevor Franklin recognized for his innovative approach to teaching

Assistant Teaching Professor Trevor Franklin is the recipient of CU Boulder's 2026 John and Mercedes Peebles Innovation in Education Award.

Franklin was recognized for his innovative approach to teaching and his commitment to student success. Through interactive simulations, scientific literature, collaborative learning, thoughtful feedback and an innovative grading system, he creates a classroom where students think and work like scientists.

Prior to joining CU, Franklin was a National Science Foundation STEM Education Postdoctoral Research fellow at Cornell University where he performed engineering education research (EER).
