Future Plans
What does receiving an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship mean to you?
I am definitely excited to have a bit more freedom during my PhD as a result, and it of course feels nice to have my work recognized especially after how much work the proposal took. My proposal was on the biofilm project (detailed below), so even though we haven't published anything on it yet, it's nice to see there are people who think it's a good idea.

Research
In the Laboratory of Interfaces, Flow and Electrokinetics, I use microparticles that react to chemical gradients to move bacteria within biofilms, clusters of bacteria bound together by sticky polymers that are difficult to remove. The goal is to find new ways to clean biofilms from porous materials.
