Heath BriggsCU alum Heath Briggs (ChemEngr '97) was recently named to the Denver Business Journal's Forty under 40 list. Awardees include up-and-coming leaders who are recognized for their business success and community contributions.

Upon graduating from CU in 1997, Heath received his law degree from the University Denver.  He has worked as a patent attorney at Greenberg Traurig since 2006, and finds great reward in helping people protect their inventions.

Not content with one full-time job, Heath also teaches the popular course Intellectual Property for Engineers here at CU Boulder as an adjunct professor.  Since he introduced the IP for Engineers course in 2005, Heath has taught almost 300 engineering students.  Several of his former students have gone on to law school and two former ChE students, Amy Kramer and Michael Burleigh, now work with Heath at Greenberg.

Heath lives in Broomfield with his wife, Missy, and has three kids, ages 19 (Maddie), 14 (Cameron) and 13 (Aubrie). He was selected by Colorado Super Lawyers and Super Lawyers magazine as a Rising Star in 2011 and 2010.
