Conference Travel Grant Application
Students currently enrolled in the Global Engineering Certificate and Professional Master's programs my apply to be considered for funding to attend a professional, global engineering-related conference. You must be presenting at the conference to qualify, and priority will be given to those giving verbal presentations. If you receive funding, it is expected that you will act as an abassador for the Mortenson Center and you may be asked to participate in activities as said ambassador.
Awards will be given in an amount up to $1,000 to cover travel expenses including lodging, transportation, and conference registration. Food expenses are not covered. Awards will be given as a scholarship and applied directly to the student's Bursar account.* You must be enrolled during the semester in which you apply for and receive funding. Awards will be counted as financial aid by the University and it is the responsibility of the student to understand what impact the award may have on current and future financial aid.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and applicants must apply at least six weeks prior to travel and no less than four weeks prior to the end of the semester.
*In certain instances, with sufficient notice and coordination, it may be possible to apply funds to airfare (booked through Concur or Christopherson Business Travel) or conference registration.
