  • MORTENSON CENTER IN GLOBAL ENGINEERING & RESILIENCE

Arnold is a Professional Research Assistant at the Mortenson Center in Global Engineering & Resilience, and holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda, in 2016. After graduation, Arnold volunteered with the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Uganda, supporting technical outreach and youth engagement initiatives, including developing middle-school curricula for the Engineering 4 Kids program.

In 2018, he joined Bridges to Prosperity as a Bridge Assessment Fellow, and later served as the East Africa Corporate Coordinator, managing partnerships and program delivery across Uganda and Rwanda. His experiences in infrastructure for development inspired his growing interest in resilience, sustainability, and equitable access to basic services for rural populations.

Arnold joined the Mortenson Center in Global Engineering and Resilience in the summer of 2023 as an online student pursuing the Certificate in Global Engineering, and later moved to Boulder in January, 2025 to pursue his Master’s degree. Outside of academics, he enjoys playing soccer, broomball, and other outdoor games. He values community, friendship, and lifelong learning. Arnold is married to his wife, Racheal, and they are, so far, proud parents of their daughter, Adeline.
