1. Login to Handshake
2. Complete/Update your Handshake Profile and upload your resume (instructions). This is really important. Employers will be reviewing your profile.
3. Make your profile public
a. To sign up for Group or 1:1 sessions, your profile privacy will need to be set to “Community” or “Employers”
b. Think of it like LinkedIn where employers and recruiters can view your profile and see your experience easily.
4. Register for the Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering career and internship fair.
5. Sign up for sessions
a. 1:1 Sessions
i. Quick 10-minute video chats (similar to walking up to an employer at a fair)
ii. Employers will have several timeslots available throughout the afternoon.
iii. Sign up right away.
Employers can add timeslots, so check back if you don’t get a slot. *IF A COMPANY SHOWS NO AVAILABLE TIMESLOTS, IT COULD MEAN THEY HAVEN’T ADDED THEM YET. PLEASE CHECK BACK.
b. Employer Group Sessions
i. 30 minute Info sessions, Q+A or open job info from employers
ii. Capped at 50 per session so sign up early!
iii. Group sessions are a great option if you do not qualify for a company’s 1:1 sessions (GPA restriction perhaps), or if there are no 1:1 slots available.
