Divya Vernerey

Divya E. Vernerey is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Colorado Boulder. She moved over from the Department of Mathematics at Boulder where she has been teaching since 2007. She was also the Director of Undergraduate Research in the Math department, starting a faculty seminar series (QED: Math Club) centered around undergraduate students to foster interactions between the students and faculty. She received a Ph.D. from Northwestern University (Evanston, IL) in the Department of Engineering Science and Applied Mathematics in 2004. Her research is in numerical analysis and partial differential equations.
She has won the Marinus Smith Award in Fall 2017 and Fall 2018." The purpose of this award is to identify and recognize CU Boulder faculty, staff, coaches, and administrators who have made a significant impact on the lives of CU Boulder students."
She was also one of the three 2024 recipients of the campus’ Outstanding Mentor Award for Faculty Mentoring in recognition of outstanding faculty mentoring by an individual faculty member.
