David Quigley

Dr. David Quigley is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Computer Science at CU Boulder, focused on teaching at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Human-Computer Interaction. He primarily teaches courses on Machine Learning (e.g. CSCI 4622) and Human Computer Interaction (e.g. CSCI 3002, 5839). In addition, he occasionally teaches a variety of central and foundational courses (e.g. CSCI 1300, CSCI 3022) to support CS.

Outside of the classroom, Dr. Quigley is a Computer Science representative in the Boulder Faculty Assembly and a member of their Teaching Faculty Affairs Committee, pursuing campus-wide shared governance issues as well as rights and benefits for the Teaching Faculty community. David is also a member of the helping to shape our courses and programs in the area of Artificial Intelligence.

Dr. Quigley’s research skillset centers on the use of learning analytics techniques to build machine learning models of student activity and understanding in classrooms. His most recent work was with the eBRAVO project building adaptive, personalized supports for reading expository texts. During his PhD program here at CU Boulder, Dr. Quigley worked on the Inquiry Hub Research-Practice Partnership and the Chicago City of Learning project. During his undergraduate and masters studies at Georgia Tech, Dr. Quigley worked with the Contextual Computing Group on a variety of projects.
