Alton Glenn Miller (1904-1944) was the most popular and best remembered bandleader during the "big band era" of 20th Century American Popular Music. The father of the Glenn Miller Archive was posthumously awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University Colorado Boulder, the first such honor ever awarded by the university.
