Todd Wantuch
Fellow, Northrop Grumman • Member 2021 - 2025

Todd graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1994.  Since graduating he has spent the majority of the last 2+ decades with Orbital Sciences Corporation (now Northrop Grumman) pioneering disruptive approaches across a diverse portfolio of space projects from upstart commercial to launch vehicles to major US Government space programs.  He initially worked on the ORBCOMM “little LEO” commercial constellation serving as the vehicle engineer for multiple spacecraft within the fleet and later as the lead engineer for the constellation. This early hands-on experience with innovative, commercial development, and manufacturing has guided Todd’s career, bringing the speed and practicality needed in the commercial marketplace to critical DoD space efforts.  As the Chief Engineer of major space systems he led teams throughout the engineering lifecycle from early concept development through eventual system disposal.

In addition to technical program leadership roles, Todd is highly experienced in the areas of space vehicle fault management and autonomy, end-to-end mission design and on-orbit checkout.

His present assignment is as the Tactical Space Systems Fellow on Northrop Grumman’s Future Concepts Team. This group is chartered to guide NG’s Space Sector’s investments, technical roadmaps and key space strategies through the use of detailed engineering, programmatic evaluations and modeling and simulation.

Todd also holds a Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering from The George Washington University in Washington DC.  He is a Colorado Native and now resides in Northern Virginia.
