Senior Design Lockheed Sponsored Projects Overview
Lockheed Martin Sponsored Projects
2013-2014
- Proximity Identification Characterization And Neutralization by tHinking before Acquisition (PIRANHA): develop and validate an orbital identification and proximity operations system for capture and disposal of orbital debris in the size range of 4-40cm diameter. This system will be tested in the Lockheed Martin Space Operations Simulation Center.
2012-2013
- Low Earth Project for the Acquisition and Recovery of Debris (LEOPARD): design, build, and test a debris capture system capable of capturing two objects in sequence representative of a piece of tracked debris that can be found low earth orbit.
2011-2012
- Progress and Advancement to Capture and Remove Aerospace Trash (PACRAT): design, build, test and evaluate an earth-based system to demonstrate a method to capture multiple pieces of debris from Low Earth Orbit.
2010-2011
- Research and Development for the Capture and Removal of Orbital Clutter (REDCROC): design, build, test, and evaluate Earth-based demonstration devices for the capture of orbital debris.
