Aaron Allred (AeroEngr MS'21, PhD'24) (Advisors: Allie Hayman & Torin Clark) is receiving the 2025 Post Doc of the Year Award from the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs. The honor recognizes his "exceeding even faculty-level publishing expectations, while also providing thoughtful mentorship to graduate students and building a collaborative, inclusive lab culture."

Mahmoud Hussein spoke last week at the joint 16th International Conference on Vibration Problems (ICOVP-2025) & 11th International Conference on Wave Mechanics and Vibrations (WMVC-2025). His lecture was titled "Damping and Energy Harvesting Properties of Advanced Elastic Metamaterials."

Jade Morton was a plenary speaker at the 2025 Union Radio-Scientifique Internationale International Union of Radio Science last month. Her presentation was titled "Filling the Voids in Ionosphere and Space Weather Monitoring Using Unconventional GNSS Data."

We invite juniors, seniors, and graduate students from CSCI, MCEN, ECEN, and ASEN to sign up for the event. Software and hardware engineers from various Apple teams will be present.

Are you an undergraduate interested in working in paid STEM research? Are you looking for a program that will provide you with mentors and workshops that will guide you through the world of academic research? Have you not been able to obtain research experience and/or have you encountered adversity/challenges during your undergraduate degree? 

The Uplift Research Program is looking for engaged undergraduate students that are interested in conducting research in a STEM lab, no matter their previous experience. The deadline for students to submit an application to be considered for Uplift is September 25, 2024 at 5PM MST, and the application, program information and info session can be found here.  

This workshop series explores the implicit norms and expectations that are not formally communicated to university students, with an aim of working toward greater equity in higher education.

I am writing to introduce the American Association of Engineers of Indian Origin (AAEIO), a student organization at CU Boulder dedicated to supporting and uplifting highly motivated students of South Asian and international backgrounds within the university.

We aim to provide a welcoming platform where students can succeed academically, grow personally, and develop as leaders. Through mentorship, professional development opportunities, and community-building events, we cultivate both excellence and inclusivity. We envision a future where South Asian and international students feel confident in their abilities and empowered to lead—whether in their academic field, at CU Boulder, or in their professional careers beyond campus.
