CU Discipline-Based Education Research Group

We are a group of CU grad students and staff who are interested in studying discipline-based education research (DBER). We’re reviving the CU DBER group, and we are reaching out to gauge interest in participating in this group.

Our current vision is to have trainee-specific meetings (for grad students/post-docs), faculty-specific meetings, and meetings comprised of both groups, all with the goal of fostering a strong, interdisciplinary DBER community here at CU Boulder.

If you’re interested, please come to our first meeting on Tuesday October 8 from 1-2pm in CASE E390 on Main Campus. This first meeting will largely consist of getting to know each other, setting norms, and figuring out how we want future meetings to run.

ASM Rocky Mountain Chapter Seminar on Fatigue of Ti64

The additive manufacturing of Ti-6Al-4V alloy presents a unique number of challenges for material qualification. This presentation will cover three post-processing high pressure heat treatments on Ti-6Al-4V with respect to the high cycle fatigue performance by means of fully reversed rotating bending fatigue testing.

This is an opportunity for graduate students to provide leadership and a unique mentoring experience to an undergraduate student in CEAS

The undergraduate students selected to participate in this program will be eligible to work with your graduate students 3-5 hours per week during the Spring 2025 semester.

Space exploration and policy have ramped up in the last few decades, and Colorado is poised to be at the center of the advancement. This forum seeks to provide a unique and accessible discussion for new and established space organizations, those interested in space policy, and young professionals. There will be two aspects: an expo for organizations to discuss their work and a forum with incisive speakers on space governance, commercial startups, and Colorado's space policy.
