David Huber

Dave is the Mission Area Director for the GEOINT Mission Systems (GMS) subarea under the Space Systems business unit of Raytheon. In this role he is responsible for the successful execution and performance of the GMS portfolio consisting of 20 programs totaling $500M in annual sales and 1,000 FTEs.  These programs range from Enterprise satellite Mission Management and Command and control to data processing to small mission operations programs.  The programs incorporate the latest in DevOps processes and cloud architecture using AWS in addition to more traditional, legacy software development processes.

Dave joined Raytheon in 2000 as a software engineer and has held a variety of P&L and functional roles within the former IIS business unit on the APEX, CCT, GPS OCX, LYNX, M2C2, and the Lateralus program.  He has served as Deputy Director, Program Manager, Mission Area Chief Engineer, Department Manager and IPT leadership roles.  He has held multiple roles on, and led proposal teams on efforts ranging from $50M to $450M. Outside of Raytheon he has held roles as the Director of Project Mgmt. at the University of Colorado reporting to the CIO (UIS), and Chief Operating Officer of a small Aerospace company responsible for all aspects of daily operations, where he grew the company 3x, expanded its business and financial capabilities to meet regulatory compliance, and achieved its first direct classified government customer contract.

Dave holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Colorado and an MBA from the Daniels College of Business (University of Denver). Dave also holds a certificate of Advanced Project Management from Stanford University and is a graduate of the Raytheon ELDP and LEP programs.  He is currently Raytheon PM Cert level 2.
