The latest episode of PBS's NOVA spotlights NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission and the effort to understand and protect Earth against the prospect of a rogue asteroid.

Paul Sánchez, a senior research associate in the Colorado Center for Astrodynamics Research is featured the episode, which premiered Oct. 21.

Sánchez joined CU Boulder in 2008 and has made significant contributions to the understanding of rubble pile asteroids, like Bennu, the asteroid being studied by the OSIRIS-REx probe. In 2019, the International Astronomical Union announced the binary asteroid (20882) Paulsánchez had been named in his honor.
