This Week at the College of Music: Student Edition - March 25, 2021

Among the victims of Monday's shooting incident was Teri Leiker, 51, a longtime King Soopers employee and a loyal CU Buffs supporter. As reported in The Denver Post, "The University of Colorado’s Golden Buffalo Marching Band gathers every Friday night before home football games to rally fan support in the heart of Boulder. Nobody loved the Pearl Street Stampede quite so much as Teri Leiker. 'She was there even before we started gathering, which is half-an-hour before the stampede started,' said CU Marching Band Director Matt Dockendorf. 'She was kind of a personal cheerleader for the band.'" Our hearts are with the families and friends of all the victims.

• It's already been a tough year. Remember, Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) are available for all CU students. Additionally, through CAPS, e-Let’s Talk allows you to connect with a counselor for free and offer confidential drop-in services, virtually. You can also sign up for a free virtual workshop to address issues related to grief, anxiety, self-care, relationships and more. 
• Health & Wellness Services provides weekly programming and workshops for students to engage in self-care and stress management activities, learn about campus resources and build community.

• The Office of Victim Assistance (OVA) provides free, confidential counseling, advocacy, referrals and more. 
• Class of 2021: On May 6, Dwinita “Nita” Mosby Tyler, founder of The Equity Project, LLC—a consulting firm supporting organizations and communities in building diversity, equity and inclusion strategies—will give the CU Boulder livestreamed commencement address.

• Recitalists being evaluated may be unmasked during their final performances if required for approved pedagogical reasons. All other performers involved in in-person activities must wear a mask and (if applicable) use a bell cover.
