Downloading the Reboarding New Employees Checklist

For new hires that began working remotely and are now coming to work on campus for the first time.

  • Communicate the return to campus date and include:
    • Where to go
    • Where to park, if applicable
    • What time to arrive
    • Expectations for the first day back.
  • Ensure building access is set-up.
  • Share health & safety requirements for returning to campus.

  • Ensure workspace is ready.
    • Show to workspace when they arrive.
  • Show where or how to get supplies, if needed.
  • Show where to keep personal belongings.
  • Arrange for technology to be brought back and set-up.
    • Schedule time with IT support, if applicable.
  • Ensure health & safety requirements are reviewed and understood.
  • Take a tour of the building to show:
    • Significant offices
    • Meeting rooms
    • Classrooms or labs
    • Other significant locations

  • Communicate if there are changes to:
    • Work schedules
    • Requesting time off
    • Communications and meeting protocols
  • Continue to meet regularly with your new employee through the transition back to campus.

Virtual QuickStart Center

The Virtual QuickStart Center is held on Mondays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.  via Zoom. The QuickStart Center’s goal is to provide new hires on their first day with tools and resources for quickly getting set-up at CU Boulder. At the QuickStart Center, new hires receive: 

  • A quick introduction to CU Boulder
  • Web resources
  • Employee portal walk-thru, including: 
    • Reviewing and updating contact information, emergency contacts, alert notifications, and Affirmative Action reporting requirements 
    • Understand where to go for paychecks, direct deposit, benefits enrollment, training
    • Adding required Discriminations and Sexual Misconduct Training to SkillSoft Learning Plan
  • Overview of leave benefits, leave tracking and timesheet entry (If using MyLeave)
  • Benefits Orientation information

Who Should Attend

Permanent, benefits-eligible new hires that are in departments that have opted into the QuickStart Center service
