Job/Position Description

The Climate effects and atmosphere-surface exchanges of CO2 lab in the Geography Department at CU Boulder is seeking an undergraduate research assistant for Summer 2024 on a collaborative project with National Oceans and Atmospheric Administration and CIRES, on analyzing existing observations of carbon cycle and accompanying environmental datasets.

Job Duties and Qualifications

This undergraduate research assistant position will primarily involve data collection and analyses. The length of this work position will be three to six weeks during the Summer of 2024.

Suitable candidates will be working towards a degree in physical geography, data science, environmental science, ecology, Atmospheric and Oceanic sciences. A candidate who has experience and interest in carbon cycle science, handling large datasets, and fluency with Python or other computer programming languages is preferred. The candidate is expected to communicate clearly and effectively, and have a positive attitude and passion for science!

Compensation and duration

The hourly rate for the position is $18/hour and will receive scik leave at an accrual rate of 0.034 hour for every hour worked.  Students who are not enrolled during the summer and/or work 40 hours a week may have to pay into student retirement.
