About
Denise was a Research Assistant at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay from 2013-2016 where she researched on solar energy dissemination in rural areas and climate change policy in India. She was an American India Foundation Clinton Fellow 2016-2017 and worked with a small development organisation in Rajasthan, India.
Research Interests
Global energy and climate governance; multilateral agencies; Development, inequality and environmental justice; Climate change mitigation and adaptation in India and the Global South; Green imperialism; Solar, petrochemicals, and coal; energy landscapes and spaces.
Major Field/Concentration
Energy transitions post the Paris Agreement on Climate Change and the impacts these transitions have on marginalized and vulnerable communities globally.
