Clare is a 4th year PhD candidate working under Dr. Cassandra Brooks. Her initial research focused on Antarctic toothfish aging methods and international marine conservation policy. She's since expanded her dissertation research to land-based conservation research and creative writing. As an undergraduate at Princeton, Clare studied spatial refugia within coral ecology. Throughout her twenties, Clare was a full-time professional ultrarunner supported by Patagonia and La Sportiva. She's still running professionally, albeit racing less now that she's deep into her graduate studies.
