Ross Sea Research Program Group

INSTAAR scientist, Sharon Stammerjohn, and CU Boulder ENVS, Assistant Professor Cassandra Brooks, chaired an NSF funded Planning Meeting last week at SEEC on the CU Boulder's campus. The group of scientists and practitioners discussed a system-level research program in the Ross Sea, which surrounds Antarctica and is now home to the world's largest marine protected area (MPA). The research program is being developed to support the Ross Sea Region MPA.

More can be learned about the research program and the Ross Sea MPA here.
