The BOLD Newsletter - Sept. 8, 2024

We’re thrilled about the new initiatives we have in store in the next few years. The BOLD Center is prioritizing academic services and student resources for its scholars and active student society members.  

To support our students, we encourage you to check out our new Academic Services Learning Lab (ECCE 122B in BOLD), join any of our nine student societies, participate in BOLD academic services, internships, undergraduate research and community-building activities. BOLD strategic vision

In the place of Study Tables, Scholar Group Study will be a designated time for our scholars to work in a group setting on common courses. Starting September 10th, Scholar Group Study will be held at Williams Village North (WVN 107) every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. This is the same residence hall as BOLD’s first-year scholars living learning community!

Our BOLD tutors will be facilitating these weekly sessions in common courses such as APPM, PHYS, CSCI and others. No appointments required, see you soon!

Game show: Tuesday, Sept. 17 from 4-5 p.m. in BOLD - Join us in our BOLD game show where we teach you about resources on campus and then test you on your knowledge! We'll have prizes for the team that's the most knowledgeable about the CU campus! Do you have what it takes to win?

Seeking applicants with excellent customer service and communication skills to staff the BOLD Center front desk. Must have some availability between 10am-2pm a few days of the week, Monday through Friday. Friday availability will also be important. 

The position is in-person at the BOLD Center Front Desk.

BOLD will no longer be offering tutoring services to all CEAS students. Instead, Academic Services of BOLD will prioritize tutoring services to BOLD scholarship students, student society members and partnership-affiliated scholarship students.

BOLD scholars and society members can schedule an appointment with a BOLD tutor through Canvas scholarship pages. For in-person appointments, you will connect with a tutor in the Academic Services Learning Lab (ECCE 122B) or the Aerospace Tutoring Room (AERO 210).

For our next edition scheduled for Sun., Sept. 22, all submission items are due by 6 p.m. Wed., Sept. 18. Bonus points, if you have a story idea for us!

Please join us for our WoAA for our next two events will take place on September 16th and September 30th. On September 16th we will have Chelsea Follett speak on the challenges with juggling school, friends, family, and more. This meeting will take place in the BOLD Center Chevron Commons Room from 6-7 p.m. On September 30th, we will be coordinating an Ursa Major company tour from 4-5 p.m.

BAE Sisters is a mentorship program that pairs current CU Engineering and business students with professional mentors from BAE Systems Space & Mission Systems. It’s open to students at all levels.

Their launch event is on October 8th from 5:30-7 p.m. in AERO 120.
