Franck Vernerey is an associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Vernerey’s research interests lies in the theoretical and computational mechanics of functional soft matter with particular emphasis on polymer, hydrogels, lipid vesicles and soft-shells for use in nano-medicine. Vernerey is a recipient of the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, the NSF Faculty Early CAREER Award and is the winner of the department’s Junior Researcher Award in 2012. He holds a PhD in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from Northwestern University and joined the CU Boulder faculty in 2007. Vernerey was the recipient of the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers in 2017.
