Located in the heart of the College of Engineering and Applied Science at University of Colorado Boulder, the Broadening Opportunity through Leadership and Diversity (BOLD) Center is a hub for student engagement, academic support, and co-curricular involvement; particularly for students historically underrepresented in STEM fields.
The BOLD Center has 8 full-time employees as well as graduate student assistants, undergraduate employees and 35+ tutors. The team oversees several large initiatives including advising eight diverse engineering student societies, industry partnerships, student engagement, scholarship administration, two research programs, an engineering pathway residential learning community, and a tutoring center for the entire college.

- Position will focus primarily on a variety of financial and payroll functions and will have the opportunity to learn about University Systems that support these.
- Heavy emphasis in reconciling expenses in Concur from Procurement & Travel cards, Purchasing, Reimbursements, as well as support other University purchasing process
- Financial support running monthly budget reports and updating expense information. Training provided for all steps but need to enjoy detailed work, being accurate, and communicating with student & professional staff. Excellent intern opportunity for experience with entry level financial support services.
- Financial project each semester depending on business needs and Intern interest. Some Examples: Creating training & process materials and training student procurement card holders. Designing slides and financial calculators to share with students during Personal Finance presentations. Analyzing use of equipment and purchase or lease options. Etc.

BOLD Front Desk Student Assistant Back-up Positions - Accepting Applications
We are hiring for student staff for the BOLD front desk for Fall 2022, about 4-6 hours a week scheduled and back-up as needed. Monday - Friday 8am- 5pm.
We are hiring for alternate staff for the BOLD front desk. Position will have 4-6 weekly hours schedule, and will also cover shift gaps, back-up hours, and be offered more open shifts as they come available. It is a good way to get a start in a BOLD position. Front desk student assistants reach out to the alternates when they need coverage for shifts. Shifts open throughout semester and back-up is needed weekly. Right now, we are looking for alternates and possibly regular shift coverage. It is essential to have a variety of hours of availability and esspecially 8am-10am and 3pm-5pm and Fridays. We have multiple hours of regular shift coverage that have opened up with the new semester that we would consider you for also.

The GoldShirt Mentor position is an essential art of providing holistic and inclusive support to incoming and first-year students in the Engineering GoldShirt Program during the Summer Bridge Program and Academic Year. GoldShirt Student Assistant Position - Job Description Closed for Applications
The GoldShirt Student Assistant position provides support to the Engineering GoldShirt Program, including GoldShirt students, events and projects. As a Student Assistant who may at times work at the BOLD front desk, we look to you to provide a welcoming and friendly presence to all students and guests that come to the BOLD Center, and to contribute your creativity and perspective to better the BOLD Center and the College of Engineering and Applied Science.
GoldShirt Student Assistants are utilized for program assistance during the academic year and will report to a member of the GoldShirt Staff. Student Assistants will support the GoldShirt Program Manager and GoldShirt Senior Coordinator with daily work as part of the student and staff team.
Expectations for the SA role include but are not limited to:
- Welcoming and supporting underrepresented students in The BOLD Center.
- Providing support for event planning and coordination.
- Making phone calls to prospective new GoldShirt students.
- Assisting with the annual GoldShirt interview process.

The GoldShirt Teaching Assistant (TA) position is a part of providing holistic and inclusive support to incoming and first-year students in the Engineering GoldShirt Program. The GoldShirt program has planned an in-person course, COEN 1510, that will focus on the following outcomes for students: building community, developing learning skills and strategies, enhancing student life skills, and connecting with college and campus resources. GoldShirt Teaching Assistants are utilized for the COEN course during the academic year and will report to a member of the GoldShirt Staff.

- Focus on providing a quality learning environment and opportunities for growth for first year students.
- Helping to establish and manage a supportive and inclusive classroom and learning community for all students.

Weekly Collaboration: Connect with BOLD Professional Staff to support development of the BOLD Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, and Special Projects & Processes within BOLD. Weekly meeting to identify priorities & provide project team with updates. Schedule, location, and hybrid work determined with supervisor.

Organization of Projects: Assist in organizing information in Google sheets, project management software, Canvas, and other database management to provide streamlined view of projects, enable ease of viewing documents, and highlight upcoming key dates. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently with a demonstrated capacity for responsible decision-making.

Process Creation & Flow: Utilize current data and steps, analyze projects, provide recommendations, and identify design processes for gathering, streamlining, sharing, and updating projects for BOLD & EDI, to provide a cornerstone to building bridges with students, sponsors, faculty, campus partners, and BOLD team.

Pay

- Position is a Student Hourly III position for an average of 10 hours a week during the academic year and 20 hours a week during the summer.
- Must be actively enrolled in classes full-time in a master’s program at CU Boulder in Engineering, Higher Education, Engineering Education, STEM discipline, Business, or a related field, and have graduated with an undergraduate degree.
- Commitment of two to three semesters while enrolled in master’s program, and semesters would be prior to graduation.
- Have successfully completed at least one semester of graduate coursework at the CU-Boulder College of Engineering & Applied Science.
- Minimum 3.0 overall GPA

- Facilitate the First Generation Student Outreach Program
- Serve as a member of the BOLD Advising Team and participate in group advising to aid scholarship recipients with their requirements and strategies for success
- Coordinate with the CEAS Scholarship Committee, the Director of BOLD Community, and the Program Manager of Scholarships and College Affordability to review scholarship applications within the Academic Works system; process application information and assist with scholarship awarding.
- Contribute to annual reports and manage the collection and synthesizing of data for the BOLD Center, industry partners and stakeholders.
- Positively represent and advocate for the BOLD Center and BOLD Scholars at meetings, conferences and presentations.
