Pre-tenure faculty whose research, scholarship or creative work was stalled by COVID-19 can now apply for new Thrive Grants in a partnership program launched by the Office of Faculty Affairs and co-sponsored by the Boulder Faculty Assembly and the Research and Innovation Office.
Announced last week by CU Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs Michele Moses, the Thrive Grant provides up to $10,000 in funds to support research and creative work.
“We’ve seen from both research findings and our own experience on campus that tenure-track faculty have faced significant impediments to their research and creative work during the pandemic,” Moses said. “Such challenges have been more pronounced for women, primary caregivers, faculty of color, and those at the intersections of these identities.”
All pre-tenure faculty whose research or creative work was severely disrupted by the pandemic are eligible for the grants, Moses said, with priority being given for primary caregivers and members of groups who experienced disproportionate negative impacts from the pandemic.
Proposals and all supporting documents must be submitted as a single PDF file via email to facultyaffairs@colorado.edu by June 8. Proposals will be reviewed shortly thereafter, with funding for successful proposals being disbursed as early as Aug. 1.
